I love this idea, taken from fresh HOME magazine (Winter 2011), of painting an entire defunct fireplace; including the mantel, surround and metal gate in one vibrant color. Rather than using the traditional black or white this exciting blue hue makes for a fantastic and fresh focal point. (& great use of white vases on the mantel for a cohesive presentation... very cool) And for extra inspiration, I threw in a few other images that are equally stylish... pink & yellow anyone?! Enjoy!
