{inspiration+stylist} Holiday by Lara Hutton

I love seeing how talented people translate their own Holiday visions. When I read about stylist Lara Hutton and saw her home I had to share it... modern, understated, imaginative, deconstructed, pure, clean... and simply lovely. (tree by top3 design)

{inspiration} House of Turquoise

To be inspired by beautiful interiors is one of my favorite past times. For me, great inspiration is mood altering and can remove the most difficult of creative blocks. It has, on occasion, turned my kitchen apple green and painted a ceiling silver. Inspiration is a call to action for many or a simple escape from the chaos of the day. On this Monday I wanted to welcome everyone back and share a few sites I stumbled across recently. Filled with glorious color and the eclectic elegance I adore, I instantly fell in love. You see, great decor to me is interesting and often perfectly mismatched and these images are just the right balance of sophistication and ease. So today, take a moment to enjoy, be inspired and have a wonderful start to your week!

{inspiration+stylist} Marie Nichols

There are very few stylists whose work makes me push back in my chair, put down my magazine and say "amazing". When I read about Marie Nichols I did just that. Her work has graced the pages of many UK glossies (Living etc., Real Living) and symbolizes what I strive for on my best days as a stylist. She is organized yet inventive with details and use of color, controlled and precise in placement of accessories, her choices in furniture, wallpaper, paint and accents are modern yet positively feminine. I love doing what I do, but after looking at her work I said to myself "I want to do that"... didn't someone once say that envy was the best form of flattery?!

{inspiration+designer} Perfectly L.A.

To begin with let's start with the where; Los Angeles, California, my absolute favorite place in the US besides New York. Where the sun is always shining and the trees smell of orange blossoms. Love it! So while I was flipping through my library of Instyle Magazines for new inspiration I came across a feature on Kristen Bell's Spanish-style L.A. home.

The decor was created by L.A. designer Stacey Vuduris and the work couldn't be more lovely. It is a wonderful and whimsical blend of sleek, modern lines, bold colors and feminine accents. The perfect example of what I feel is great design. Take a peek inside the Dining Room which features faux-suede-and-chrome chairs from CB2, a custom wallpapered ceiling and a clustered globe chandelier from Shades of Light. It is relaxed and pretty but sophisticated. For the Living Room they used yummy, creamy, white upholstery (my favorite!), a fantastic custom ottoman by Plantation (covered with Chiang Mai Dragon pattern fabric) and added contained pops of turquoise, yellow, green and metallic gray. It is simply PERFECT!

{inspiration+designer} Melissa Warner

What I am loving now is the work of designer Melissa Warner. If you have a chance to pick up the latest issue of House Beautiful you can see how her L.A. apartment sparkles with a modern palette & sweet touches throughout. One of my favorite features was Warner's extra bedroom turned office. There she used items of mixed style and medium such as metal locker baskets, a tailored draped table, a Lucite chair (a current favorite of mine) and wallpapered the closet's sliding doors in Osborne & Little's Hothouse in Arizona to create a darling personal space. I love the clever wallpaper idea "for an instant splash of color and pattern". How fantastic!

Lotta Agaton

Nothing inspires me more than truly beautiful interiors. I love observing designers whose work takes my breath away & makes me reach higher.
A new favorite designer of mine is Lotta Agaton
. An interior stylist from Stockholm, Sweden who worked for the magazine Residence before moving onto freelance work as a stylist. Check out the wonderful mix of mod and vintage, white on white with aging gold frames... oh and don't miss those fantastic poem mirrors. To die for!
