{inspiration} a fond farewell to summer part 2

I am loving Beach Bungalow.... to me it feels timeless, like coming home. I love how it is quietly weathered by the shining sun and salty sea air. Its beauty filled with an eclectic mix of worn woods and chipping white paint, blues, yellow and fabulous lilac... nautical stripes and unfussy prints. Fresh flowers in old pitchers... it is always fashionable to wear your swim suit here and walk in your bare feet to the evening meal. Here is to summer... her bungalows of rainbow colors by the sand and to her gloriously warm days gone by.

{inspiration} pretty without really trying...

Some spaces simply don't have to try too hard to be fabulous... some rooms just are without much effort at all. I am loving these wonderful rooms that do just that. They look as if they just happen to be pretty great. I love their gloriously unexpected color palettes. Reds and pinks and yellows and greens and that great turquoise side cabinet... ah, to die! I love the mid-century furniture, known for it's masculine appeal, upholstered unapologetically in bright, feminine florals and prints. I love how all of the wonderfully saturated colors are juxtaposed with raw woods, tile flooring and woven accessories. I love the unfinished walls and faded wallpaper decorated with seemingly random collections. I love how nothing is overtly new but still translates a modern freshness and effortless appeal. I simply love it all! Have a wonderful week everyone!

{inspiring spaces} a vintage romance

I have to confess, I have some very favorite things when it comes to dressing a room. I love blending vintage finds with modern furnishings. I adore seeing how contemporary pieces soften against something aged. I adore chipping mirrors, chandeliers and retro vases (ah... milk glass is fantastic) paired with mid-century lines, glossy paint and pops of very current color. I love white.
So I am loving this contemporary dining table & chairs (yeah acid green, white and fuchsia) anchored by a completely feminine chandelier. I am loving the collections of pretty pink china and delicate dishes displayed with very retro 1950's kitchenware. And let's all take one moment to raise our glass for the wonderful bedroom unified in luscious white and soft gray... I truly believe spaces are at their best when they are both comfortable and chic- and yes, a bit romantic. Happy, happy weekend everyone!

{inspiration} What is Old is...

Right now I am loving rooms that feel loved, rooms that feel like a collection of one's life, rooms that fully embrace the richness found with age. I love the thought of delicately etched glass and worn wood, luscious velvet and weeping flowers, old world grace and disheveled ease. I love that beauty can be found in timeless pieces and timeless pieces are forever beautiful. Have a wonderful week everyone...
