Stone and Clapboard Georgian Estate for Sale in Greenwich, CT

This exceptional stone and clapboard Georgian home, listed by David Ogilvy & Associates Realtors, is located on Round Hill, in Greenwich, Connecticut and overlooks 17 acres of conservancy land.  We've posted a few photos below and an excerpt from the listing:
"Beautifully landscaped property with lovely stone walls surrounds this virtually new stone and clapboard Georgian with limestone terraces around the heated pool and large spa overlooking this permanently protected conservation property in the heart of Round Hill.

Handsome white gates open to the driveway and walled courtyard. A Palladian window is over the pedimented front entrance, while there is a second entrance under a side portico. The front-to-back gallery center hall is memorable with a lovely oval stairhall and curving stairway up to the matching second-floor gallery hall and french doors opening to the west-facing verandah. The inviting living room has superb hand-carved detailing around the fireplace, classical moldings, long windows, quarter-sawn oak floors and 10-foot ceilings, all of which continue through the house. The mahogany panelled, booklined library has a matching fireplace and the dining room is formal with wainscoting and doors to a verandah opening to the flagstone terrace, while there are two powder rooms off the hall. The family room with a fireplace is ideally placed for access to the country kitchen with a large island, a charming breakfast room with three exposures, a cozy office, raised panel cabinetry, a door to the terrace and a butler's pantry in warm butternut wood. Upstairs (also with an elevator) is the master suite with a fireplace, a sun-filled dressing room with enormous walk-in closets, a fireplace in the gorgeous nickel-appointed whirlpool bathroom with a steam shower, and a sitting room. The five additional en suite bedrooms have walk-in closets, and there is a panelled laundry, a billiards room and additional expansion area. Garaging is for five cars with adjoining mudrooms, and there is a pool house wing with a changing room, a powder room and walls of glass. The exceptional pre-war feeling of this classical home includes hand-carved detailing while there are all the latest technological features for 2009 living. The quality is marvelous, the architecture a treat, the decorating wonderful, the address is the most famous in Greenwich and the protected views are forever."

MITCHELL STUDIO ARCHITECT: Magnificent Shingle Style Home in East Hampton

We've posted a few photos of this magnificent East Hampton Shingle-Style Estate by Mitchell Studio of New Haven, Connecticut.

"The design mixes the Georgian detailing typical of the oldest homes in the village with the informal massing of those that line the beach. Bent in plan to embrace an entry courtyard to the north, the house unfolds along the south to take maximum advantage of ocean breezes and the summer sun." -- MitchellStudio.net
