Fabulous Lake Michigan Waterfront Home by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and Victoria Hagan Interior Design
Architectural Digest Magazine featured this Lake Michigan residence by Robert A. M. Stern Architects in their October 2009 issue; Interior Designer Victoria Hagan designed the home's decor. "The (homeowner) had envisioned a house with a strong New England character. This prompted the architects to look not only at the historically eclectic 1920s and ’30s suburban Chicago estate houses of David Adler and Howard Van Doren Shaw but at their sources of inspiration in colonial and Georgian architecture. Stern and (his partner, Randy Correll) then reinterpreted the paradigm, infusing it with individuality and unreserved freshness" (Architectural Digest, October 2009).
ALLAN GREENBERG ARCHITECT
A member of Architectural Digest Magazine's illustrious AD100, South African Allan Greenberg is "one of the most lauded revivalists of American classical architecture." Mr. Greenberg believes "rooms should be comfortable, easy to furnish, and enhanced by beautiful architectural detail and quality of light." We couldn't agree more!
Take a look at a few photos we posted of "Weatherstone," a historical residence in Northwest Connecticut, rebuilt by Allan Greenberg Architect after it was destroyed by a fire in 1998.

Beautifully paneled home office with painted wood floors -- bright and elegant -- a lovely place to work

This sun-filled breakfast room features white painted glass-front cabinetry, a great place to display collections; the floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the elaborate gardens.

Inquiring Minds Want to Know

Apparently I am not the only one who has noticed Jennifer and that gorgeous chair. Architectural Digest has been flooded with inquires over the past few days. The vintage chairs (circa 1970) were purchased from the extraordinary New York based Lobel Modern and covered in a deep violet fabric by Manuel Canovas. According to propietor Evan Lobel, “They are grand in scale and comfortable. And, they are glamorous, just like Jennifer.”
Lobel Modern offers an amazing collection of furniture, lighting and art by important designers from the 1940's thru the 1980's. A few include Edward Wormley, Harvey Probber, Paul Evans and Karl Springer. Evan Lobel was Exhibition Coordinator of the retrospective on Harvey Probber in 2003 and has been hailed by Architectural Digest as the "New York dealer who has been instrumental in putting Springer back on the map."
Lobel Modern is open to the trade and public or you can browse their wonderful collection online.
